Write a prompt that actually works.

Brief AI like you would a new starter: the task, who it's for, the tone, the format you want and one good example. Fill the boxes and it builds a clear, copy-ready prompt for ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini, live as you type. No sign-up, nothing sent.

Pure templating, no AI callcopy and paste anywhere

Even a rough example teaches the AI your voice faster than any instruction. Leave it out and the prompt still works.

Paste this into ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini as-is. Read the draft it gives you, then tweak the prompt and go again. AI drafts, you check.

Why each part matters

The task
The clearer the job, the better the result. Say what you want done, not just the topic.
Who it’s for
AI writes differently for a customer than a supplier. Tell it who’s reading.
The tone
Sets the voice so it comes out sounding like you, not a robot.
The format
Ask for the shape you want, an email, bullets or a table, and you’ll get it back usable.
An example
One good example teaches it more than a paragraph of instructions ever will.

How it works

Four ingredients, one clear brief.

  • It's the "brief it like a new employee" method. A good prompt says what you want done, who it's for, the tone and the shape to give it back. Miss those and you get a vague, generic answer.
  • One example does the heavy lifting. Pasting a past reply or post in your own voice teaches the AI more than any list of instructions. Leave it out and the prompt still works.
  • It's just templating. There's no AI call here and nothing is sent. The tool slots your answers into a proven structure and hands you the text to copy. What you paste it into is up to you.
  • Then iterate. Read the first draft, tweak the prompt, and go again. AI drafts, you check. Our guide onhow to write a prompt that actually workscovers the full method if you want the detail behind this tool.
  • Want to go further? Our free course,Writing prompts that work, walks through all of this properly across eight short lessons, with a couple of quick checks along the way.

We cover prompting and a lot more, hands-on, at our AI Automation Masterclass in Manchester. Tickets are normally £20. This one's free, a limited-time offer to launch the series.
